Bareilly, 01.04.2025 – Rohilkhand College of Nursing students visited Jeevandhara Rehabilitation & Research Institute, Bareilly, gaining hands-on experience in special education, rehabilitation, and therapy. The visit focused on understanding and supporting children with mental retardation, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hearing impairment, and speech disabilities. Students actively participated in speech therapy sessions, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and special education training, observing how individualized care plans are designed to enhance children’s cognitive, social, and motor skills. They assisted in daily living activities, communication skill-building, and sensory integration exercises while interacting closely with children to understand their emotional and psychological needs. Additionally, students learned about assistive devices, alternative communication methods, and structured learning techniques used in rehabilitation. Engaging in therapeutic and recreational activities, they gained deeper insights into multidisciplinary approaches to special care, inclusive education, and holistic rehabilitation, preparing them for specialized roles in nursing, pediatric care, and disability support services.
