The Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, a constituent unit of Bareilly International University, successfully organized an online awareness lecture on the theme of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The objective of the program was to sensitize students and faculty members about the importance of intellectual property, its protection mechanisms, and its relevance in the contemporary academic and research landscape.
The keynote speaker for the session was Dr. Bharat N. Suryawanshi from the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management, Nagpur. In his detailed and insightful presentation, he elaborated on various forms of intellectual property rights including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. He emphasized that a strong understanding of IPR is essential for safeguarding innovations, research outputs, and inventions in today’s competitive and knowledge-driven environment. His session was highly informative and widely appreciated by the participants.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Dr. Prashant Gupta, highlighted that in the present era of global competition, awareness and understanding of intellectual property rights have become indispensable for students, academicians, and researchers. He described such awareness programs as the need of the hour and encouraged participants to actively engage in protecting their intellectual contributions.
The program was successfully coordinated by Academic Incharge Dr. Amarnath Sharma. The event was graced by the presence of IQAC Coordinator Shri Sarnam Singh. Other distinguished attendees included Dr. Anmol Sharma, Ms. Mahima Tiwari, Dr. Sakshi Bhatnagar, Dr. Anshul Yadav, Ms. Gulafsha Saifi, and NSS Programme Officer Shri Ankit Kumar, along with faculty members and students.
In her concluding message, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Lata Agrawal, congratulated the organizers and appreciated the initiative. She stated that such academic and awareness programs play a vital role in enhancing students’ knowledge and professional competencies and encouraged the continued organization of similar meaningful events in the future.
