With the objective of positioning nursing as a catalyst for next-generation healthcare innovation, the BMIIL Incubation Center (Bareilly MedTech Incubation & Innovation Labs) conducted a Faculty Led Innovationhands on session for the Faculty and Students of the Nursing College.
The session, structured around a problem-solving framework, demonstrated how nursing practice can translate frontline clinical insights into scalable healthcare solutions. A total of 42 participants, including faculty members and students, engaged in team-based activities focused on clinical problem identification, ideation, and rapid solution pitching.
Key areas of discussion included patient safety, infection control, workflow efficiency, community health models, digital enablement, chronic disease monitoring, and cost-effective care delivery. Several proposed concepts showed strong potential for further mentorship and incubation, reinforcing BMIIL’s commitment to fostering nurse-led innovation.
Addressing the participants, Claudius Lazarus, Co-Founder and CEO, BMIIL, emphasized the critical role of nurses as frontline innovators and highlighted the importance of having Nurses as part of every MedTech startup team. Nurses have the maximum touch points with patients and they have the best understanding of patient requirements.
Faculty members had a firsthand experience of the innovation cycle, from defining a problem to idea generation and solution mapping and finally pitching.
The program concluded with enthusiastic participation, loud and aggressive pitching and a shared commitment to advancing patient-centric, solution-oriented healthcare innovation.
Special appreciation is extended to the Principal Dr.Masih, Vice PrincipalDr. Anita and the campus catalyst for the nursing college, Mr. Tarun Dyani for their constant support and academic coordination in successfully organizing the session.
