Bareilly: The Department of Optometry under the Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences at Bareilly International University successfully organized a grand event on the occasion of World Optometry Day 2026. The theme of the program was “A Shared Vision: Strengthening Collaboration for Global Eye Care,” aiming to promote awareness about eye health and the importance of collaborative efforts in global vision care.
The program commenced at 9:00 AM with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. A variety of academic and co-curricular activities were conducted, including a model exhibition, poster presentation, quiz competition, and guest lectures.
In the Model Presentation Competition, the first position was secured by Sameera Malik, Ayeza, Ritika, Umair, Dhruv, Rani, Anshul Sharma, Anshu, Ansh Sharma, Vinod Bharti, and Shivangi Sharma. The second position was awarded to Aarohi, Riti, Inzamamul, Sapna, and Ruby, while Mohammad Naseem Ali secured the third position.
In the Poster Presentation Competition, Shivani Jawla achieved the first position. Riya Gangwar secured the second position, while Madhuri, Pooja, and Ganga Charan were awarded the third position.
The event also featured an insightful guest lecture session, where Mr. Claudius Lazarus from the University Incubation Cell and Dr. Prashant Gupta, Principal, Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, shared valuable insights on eye health, emerging optometry technologies, and career opportunities in the field.
The program was graced by the presence of Academic In-charge Dr. Amarnath Sharma, Dr. Anmol Sharma, and NSS Program Officer Ankit Kumar. The event was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Assistant Professor Farheen Khan.
In her concluding remarks, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Lata Agrawal congratulated all participants and emphasized that such events foster innovation, awareness, and a sense of social responsibility among students. She extended her best wishes to all winners and participants for their bright future.
