Introduction
Festivals play a vital role in promoting cultural values, unity, and joy within educational institutions. They provide opportunities for students and faculty to come together, celebrate diversity, and strengthen bonds of harmony. Keeping this spirit alive, Rohilkhand College of Nursing organized an Onam celebration under the guidance of Mrs. Princia Rolita D’Souza, Associate Professor, who served as the organizing faculty. The event honored the rich traditions of Kerala and spread the message of compassion, care, and togetherness.
Brief Introduction
Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit in our institution. The program highlighted the rich traditions associated with Onam through vibrant performances, traditional art forms, and festive activities. The celebration brought together the students and faculty, fostering a sense of unity, joy, and cultural appreciation.
Highlights
The program began at 10 am on 04/09/2025 with a warm welcome. A skit on the significance of Onam was performed depicting the story of King Mahabali. Traditional dance performance added charm to the event. A beautifully designed Pookalam (Floral Carpet) was displayed by the nursing students. The event concluded with the message of unity, culture, and togetherness reflecting the true spirit of Onam.
Outcome
The Onam celebration created awareness about cultural heritage, strengthened unity and teamwork among students, and spread joy and togetherness within the campus community.

The Onam celebration was a joyful occasion that beautifully showcased tradition, culture, and togetherness. It not only highlighted the spirit of unity and harmony but also created lasting memories for all participants.
