Rohilkhand Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Bareilly, in association with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Nagpur, under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), organized an online workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patents and Design Filing” on 20th February 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Bharat N. Suryawanshi, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, RGNIIPM Nagpur. He delivered an informative and insightful session on the fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights, various types of intellectual property, patent filing procedures, design registration, and the importance of protecting innovations in academic and research institutions. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students and faculty members regarding intellectual property protection, patent drafting basics, and the process of filing patents and designs in India. E-certificates were provided to all participants who attended the programme.
Objectives of the Programme:
❖ To create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
❖ To understand the procedure for patent and design filing
❖ To encourage innovation and research culture in the institution
❖ To educate students about legal protection of intellectual creations
Outcomes:
❖ Enhanced understanding of Intellectual Property Rights and patent filing procedures
❖ Increased awareness regarding innovation protection in academic research
❖ Motivation among students and faculty to pursue patentable research work
❖ Strengthening of institutional collaboration with RGNIIPM under NIPAM
