Brief Introduction:
Oral Hygiene Day was observed at Rohilkhand College of Nursing on 6th August 2025 to raise awareness among nursing students about the importance of oral health and preventive dental care.
Highlights:
The program was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for students of B.Sc. Nursing V Semester (3rd Year), ANM 2nd Year, and GNM 2nd Year. The session was led by Dr. Akansha Singh, Associate Professor, Institute of Dental Sciences, Bareilly, and Dr. Tamim Ahmad, MDS (Periodontology), IDS, Bareilly. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Alok Chauhan, Dr. Radhika Singh, Dr. Bhavya Agarwal, Dr. Gurleen Kaur Saluja, Dr. Shivani, Dr. Iram Khan, and Shrashti (Hygienist).
Topics covered included the importance of daily oral hygiene, common dental issues, correct brushing techniques, and the role of preventive care. The session was interactive and informative, with live demonstrations and Q&A.
Outcome:
The students gained practical knowledge on oral care practices, and the session emphasized the critical role of nurses in educating patients about oral hygiene in clinical practice.
Conclusion:
The event reinforced the message that “Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body” is not just a slogan but a necessity in maintaining overall health.
