World Breastfeeding Week Programme

Brief Introduction:
In observance of World Breastfeeding Week, Rohilkhand College of Nursing organised a five-day programme from 1st to 5th August 2025 to raise awareness on the importance of breastfeeding. The initiative aimed to educate students about its benefits for both mother and child. The inaugural session was graced by Principal Dr. Priyanka A. Masih, an eminent academic leader dedicated to advancing nursing education, and Vice Principal Dr. Anita P. Martin, a distinguished educator with extensive expertise in clinical training. Both commended the faculty and students for their commitment to promoting health awareness.
Highlights:
The programme commenced on 1st August with a Poster Competition, coordinated by Ms. Rinky. On 2nd August, a Slogan Competition was held, coordinated by Ms. Anjilika. The 4th August witnessed a Quiz Competition coordinated by Ms. Anjilika and Ms. Rinky. On 5th August, a Role Play and Help Desk were presented by Ms. Mahima Singh, followed by a Presentation on the final day.
Outcome:
The activities generated strong engagement from students, faculty, and the public, fostering knowledge, reducing stigma, and encouraging breastfeeding practices.
Conclusion:
The event successfully strengthened awareness, inspired active participation, and reinforced the significance of breastfeeding in improving community health. As the saying goes, “Breastfeeding is a mother’s gift to herself, her baby, and the earth.
