An awareness rally on the theme “One World, One Health” was organized at Rohilkhand Medical College and Hospital on 1st November 2025 under the One Health Initiative, a collaborative effort between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM). The event, held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, aimed to promote awareness about the interrelation of human, animal, and environmental health, emphasizing the need for integrated efforts to safeguard global well-being.
The rally was flagged off after an inspiring inaugural address by Dr. Lata Agarwal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, who highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a healthy planet. The program was graced by Dr. Rajneesh Pathania, Principal of Rohilkhand Medical College and Hospital, who encouraged participants to actively contribute to spreading the message of One Health. Dr. Medhavi Agarwal, State Nodal Officer for One Health (IAPSM UP Uttarakhand), and Dr. Gauri Sarswat, Nodal Officer for One Health, shared valuable insights on the relevance of the initiative in addressing contemporary health challenges. Mr. Tasleem Khan, Administrative Officer, also extended his support to the successful organization of the event. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from medical students, interns, junior and senior residents, and faculty members. Participants carried placards and raised slogans to spread awareness about the interdependence of all life forms. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the institution’s commitment to fostering a holistic approach to health that unites human, animal, and environmental welfare under the shared vision of “One World, One Health”.
