Organizing Body:
- The National Cybersecurity Awareness Program was organized under the esteemed guidance and leadership of the Principal & Vice Principal of Rohilkhand College of Nursing (RCN), Bareilly.
- Priyanka A Masih, Principal,RCN provided overall direction and support for organizing the event.
- Anitha P, Vice Principal, RCN & nodal officer of this Programme supervised the planning and ensured that the objectives of the program aligned with the national theme “Cyber Jagrit Bharat.”
- Tarun Dhyani, Assistant Professor, RCN, Faculty In charge of this eventplayed a vital role in mentoring the students, assisting in content preparation, and coordinating event arrangements.
- The B.Sc. Nursing III Year students took the lead in organizing the event, preparing the panel discussion topics, and executing the program successfully.
Brief Introduction:
As part of the observance of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month with the theme “Cyber Jagrit Bharat,” the students of B.Sc. Nursing III Year organized a Panel Discussion to spread the awareness regarding Cybersecurity and its Common Threats.
The aim of the event was to educate students and faculties about the growing importance of cybersecurity, identify common cyber threats, and promote safe digital practices among the academic community.
Event Details:
The panel discussion included one moderator and four panelists, each presenting on a specific aspect of cybersecurity.
Moderator:Ms. Love Preet Kaur, B.Sc. Nursing III Year
Panelists:
Panelist I: Ms. Anshika Singh, B.Sc. Nursing III Yearshared her insights on topic “Understanding Cybersecurity and Its Common Threats”.
- Explained the concept and importance of cybersecurity in daily life.
- Discussed common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, data theft, and identity fraud.
Panelist II: Mr. Suneel Kumar, B.Sc. Nursing III Year presented his views on “Emerging Trends and AI-Based Cyber Attacks”.
- Highlighted new trends in cybersecurity.
- Discussed how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in both cyber defense and cybercrime.
- Explained the rise of deepfake technology and AI-generated phishing attempts.
Panelist III: Ms. Vaibhav, B.Sc. Nursing III Year delivered a session on “Cyber Attack Prevention and Response”
- Shared methods to protect against cyber threats.
- Emphasized the use of strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regular software updates.
- Described appropriate response steps after a cyber attack, including reporting and recovery measures.
Panelist IV: Mr. Chirag Gaud, B.Sc. Nursing III Year shared his insights on topic “Cyber Threat Case Study Discussion with Examples”
- Presented real-life examples of cyber attacks.
- Explained the impact of each incident and lessons learned.
- Encouraged participants to stay alert while using digital platforms.
The Moderator efficiently coordinated the session, ensuring smooth transitions and encouraging interaction between panelists and participants. At the end the Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Moderator who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all individuals who made the event successful.
Participation:
The session witnessed active participation from B.Sc. Nursing III Year and I Year students, along with faculty members. Participants interacted enthusiastically with the panelists, shared personal experiences, and clarified their doubts regarding safe online behavior and data protection.A total of 150 participants attended and actively participated in the panel discussion program.
Outcome:
The event successfully enhanced awareness and understanding of cybersecurity among students and faculty. Participants gained valuable insights into recognizing, preventing, and responding to cyber threats. The program contributed to building a “Cyber Jagrit Bharat” (Cyber Aware India) by empowering nursing students to adopt responsible digital practices.
Conclusion:
The Panel Discussion on Cybersecurity Awareness was an informative and interactive session that inspired participants to be more alert and responsible digital citizens. The program concluded with a message that cyber safety is a shared responsibility and that awareness is the first step toward ensuring a secure digital future.
