Rohilkhand College of Nursing, under Bareilly International University, organized the Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony for the newly inducted students of B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, and ANM first year. The ceremony marked the students’ formal initiation into the nursing profession and emphasized that all nursing courses hold equal importance with a shared purpose—service to humanity.
The programme commenced at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium with a formal welcome, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolizing purity, knowledge, compassion, and commitment to ethical patient care. The Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr. Lata Agarwal, inaugurated the ceremony and addressed the gathering, highlighting the dignity, responsibility, and humanitarian essence of the nursing profession.
Principal and Dean, Dr. Priyanka A. Masih, delivered an inspirational address explaining the relevance of the Florence Nightingale tradition and encouraging students to maintain discipline, academic excellence, and professional ethics. Faculty members shared guidance related to academic expectations, clinical competencies, and professional growth pathways.
During the event, students took the professional oath while holding lit candles, signifying dedication, integrity, and empathy in service. Academic achievement medals and certificates were awarded to meritorious students from all courses, acknowledging excellence and motivation.
Additionally, results for the Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) student leadership positions were announced, and the winners for SNA Vice President, SNA Secretary, and SNA Treasurer were formally declared and congratulated.
The ceremony was attended by university officials, faculty members, staff, students, and parents. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a reaffirmation of the college’s mission to nurture professionally competent, compassionate, and socially responsible nursing graduates.
