The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC-Cell)of Bareilly International University successfully organized an online workshop under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission, with the support of the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Nagpur, Government of India, on 06 February 2026. The theme of the workshop was “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patents and Design Filing.”
The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students and faculty members about intellectual property rights and to provide essential information related to the protection of innovation, research, and creative works. During the program, Mr. Raju Kumar, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, RGNIIPM Nagpur, elaborated on the concept of IPR, types of patents and designs, filing procedures, benefits, and practical aspects in detail.
The program was successfully conducted under the able guidance and direction of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lata Agrawal. The event was organized with the support of University Registrar Dr. S. K. Thakur, Controller of Examinations Dr. A. K. Agrawal, Bareilly Medtech Incubation & Innovation Labs (CEO) Mr. Claudius Lazarus, President University Innovation Cell Dr. Pushpendra Kanaujia, and Principal of the constituent nursing college Dr. Priyanka A. Masih.
The workshop was coordinated by Mr.Sarnam Singh, Assistant Registrar and IQAC Coordinatoralong with Mr. Anuj Tiwari, Assistant Controller of Examinations and Research Coordinator. Participants from more than ten states (Like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Odisha, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujrat, Chhattisgarh &Bihar) and at the international level (UAE) took part in the workshop. During the program, participants were informed about the patent and design registration process, required documents, timelines, and related legal aspects. In the question-and-answer session, students and faculty members actively participated and had their queries addressed. The proceedings of the program were smoothly anchored by Mrs. Anjali Bhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Nursing.
The University Registrar Dr. S. K. Thakur expressed gratitude to RGNIIPM Nagpur and the Government of India for organizing this useful and knowledge-enriching workshop and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to organizing similar academic programs in the future. The successful organization of the workshop helped develop a positive outlook toward innovation and intellectual property protection among the participants
