The Department of Optometry, Faculty of Allied and Health Care Sciences, Bareilly International University successfully organized the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Silver Line Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. with the objective of strengthening academic-industry collaboration in the field of Optometry and Vision Care.
The MoU was signed to provide students with enhanced industry exposure, clinical training, skill development opportunities, hands-on learning, and collaborative research activities in the area of Orthokeratology and modern vision correction techniques. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical clinical applications by introducing advanced technologies and professional training opportunities for students and faculty members.
On this occasion, Mr. Gagan Sahni, Director of Silver Line Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., shared his views on the growing importance of Orthokeratology, Myopia Management, and advanced contact lens technologies in modern eye care practices. He emphasized the need for practical exposure and industry-oriented learning for aspiring optometrists.
Dr. Prashant Gupta, Principal, Faculty of Allied and Health Care Sciences, stated that such academic and industrial collaborations play a significant role in enhancing students’ professional competencies and clinical expertise. He highlighted that the MoU will create new opportunities for internships, research collaborations, workshops, and practical training programs for students.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Organizing Co-Chair Ms. Gulfashan Saifi and Organizing Secretary Mrs. Upasana Yadav. Academic Incharge Mr. Amar Nath Sharma, Mr. Pankaj, and Mrs. Farheen were also present during the program and appreciated the initiative for promoting advanced learning and professional development in the field of Optometry.
The program concluded with the best wishes and encouragement of Vice Chancellor Dr. Lata Agrawal, who appreciated the initiative and expressed hope for more such collaborative academic programs in the future.
