On July 26, 2025, students of Rohilkhand College of Nursing visited Disha Vidyalaya Secondary School in Bareilly for an observational study focused on children with special needs. The visit aimed to enhance understanding of various conditions such as mental retardation, blindness, hearing impairments, speech disabilities, autism, and neurological disorders.
During the visit, students observed:
- Therapies such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy tailored to individual needs.
- Educational activities designed to support learning through visual aids, interactive methods, and one-on-one instruction.
- Recreational and sensory activities to promote motor skills, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
- Special education techniques and use of assistive devices like hearing aids, Braille materials, and communication boards.
- Supportive classroom environments that foster inclusive learning and encourage independence.
- This hands-on experience enriched the students’ knowledge of pediatric developmental challenges and highlighted the importance of compassionate nursing care in inclusive education, therapy, and rehabilitation.
