The Department of Pathology – Blood Bank, Rohilkhand Medical College & Hospital (RMCH), Bareilly, in collaboration with Bareilly International University (BIU) inaugurated a two-day World Blood Donor Day 2026 celebration and blood donation campaign at the Blood Center, RMCH, Bareilly. The campaign was organized under the theme “Give Blood, Give Hope – Together We Save Lives“.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajnish Pathania, Dean, RMCH Bareilly; Dr. Nitesh Mohan, Head of Department, Pathology; Dr. Rashmi Katyal, Head of Department, Community Medicine; and Dr. Mamta Bhatt, Blood Centre Incharge, RMCH Bareilly.
It also witnessed the presence of Dr. Anjana Arya, Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Mithila Bisht, Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Sagar Mhetre, Professor, Department of Pathology and Ms. Kirti, ANM Coordinator.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the formal inauguration of the blood donation camp. Faculty members, healthcare professionals, students, volunteers, and community members participated enthusiastically in the event.
The successful organization of the program was made possible through the special contributions of Dr. Swarnavo Sen; Dr. Shivam Trivedi; Dr. Payal Pandey, Sanskar Chaurasia, Anshul Chahal, Kanak Pramod Tiwari and Tanishka Verma.
To create awareness about voluntary blood donation, students presented a Nukkad Natak highlighting the importance of blood donation and dispelling common myths associated with it. Informative poster presentations were also displayed, educating attendees about donor eligibility, blood safety, and the lifesaving impact of blood donation.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and encouraged students and young adults to actively contribute to this noble cause. The inauguration day also witnessed enthusiastic participation from donors, with blood collection being carried out under the supervision of trained medical professionals.
A special Donor Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony was organized to honor voluntary blood donors for their selfless contribution to society. Certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to the donors as a mark of gratitude.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the support and efforts of the organizers, chief guests, volunteers, donors, and participants who contributed to the successful inauguration of the campaign.
The blood donation drive and awareness activities will continue tomorrow, further promoting the message of safe and voluntary blood donation and encouraging greater community participation in this life-saving initiative.

The students of B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Semester actively participated in this noble initiative, promoting the importance of voluntary blood donation and supporting the cause of saving lives.
