The Department of Optometry, Faculty of Allied and Health Care Sciences, Bareilly International University successfully organized a one-day workshop titled “Orthokeratology Essentials: Theory to Practice – Interactive Hands-on Workshop Session.” The workshop aimed to provide students and faculty members with practical and theoretical knowledge regarding Orthokeratology, Myopia Management, and modern lens fitting techniques.
The workshop featured Mr. Gagan Sahni, Director of Silver Line Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., as the Chief Speaker and Resource Person. During the session, he explained the principles of Orthokeratology, lens design and fitting protocols, myopia control mechanisms, and software-guided designing techniques in detail. He also conducted live demonstrations and interactive hands-on practice sessions to train students in lens fitting and evaluation procedures.
The workshop provided participants with valuable exposure to modern vision correction technologies and advanced clinical practices in Optometry. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the interactive sessions and gained practical insights into contemporary eye care techniques.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Prashant Gupta, Principal of the Faculty of Allied and Health Care Sciences, emphasized the importance of modern Optometry and Vision Care technologies in today’s healthcare sector. He stated that such workshops significantly contribute to strengthening the practical skills and clinical competencies of students.
The successful organization of the workshop was supported by Organizing Co-Chair Ms. Gulfashan Saifi and Organizing Secretary Mrs. Upasana Yadav. Academic Incharge Mr. Amar Nath Sharma, Mr. Pankaj, and Mrs. Farheen were also present during the event and motivated students to continue learning, research, and skill enhancement in the field of modern Optometry.
The workshop concluded with the best wishes of Vice Chancellor Dr. Lata Agrawal, who appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing such academic and skill-oriented programs for students.
