Brief Introduction:
In observance of World Breastfeeding week, Rohilkhand College of Nursing organised Five-day programme in 1st – 5 August 2025 to raise awareness on Promoting Breast feeding. The initiative aimed to educate students regarding Benefits of Breastfeeding. The inaugural session was graced by Principal Dr. Priyanka A. Masih, an eminent academic leader dedicated to advancing nursing education, and Vice Principal Dr. Anita P. Martin, a distinguished educator with extensive expertise in clinical training. Both commended the faculty and students for their commitment to promoting health awareness.
Highlights:
The programme began on 1st August with a Poster Competition, coordinated by Ms. Rinky. On 2nd August with slogan competition, coordinated by Ms. Anjilika , On 4th August with Quiz competition, coordinated by Ms. Anjilika & Ms. Rinky, On 5th August followed by a Role Play by Ms. Mahima Singh and a Help desk. The final day, 6th January, featured a Presentation by Ms. Mahima Singh.
Outcome:
The activities generated strong engagement from students, faculty, and the public, fostering knowledge, reducing stigma, and encouraging Breast Feeding.
Conclusion
The World Breastfeeding Week programme (1st–7th August 2025) at Rohilkhand College of Nursing successfully achieved its objective of promoting awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding. Through a series of interactive and creative activities-poster and slogan competitions, quiz, role play, help desk, and presentation—the event actively engaged students and faculty, enhancing their knowledge and advocacy skills. The programme not only reinforced the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and child health but also fostered a supportive environment for open dialogue, breaking misconceptions and motivating participants to champion breastfeeding practices in their professional and community roles.
